Check publication state
Open the article and check whether it has a live publication. A Draft working-copy label can coexist with an existing published Reader version; do not unpublish it just to return an optional review to Draft.
Confirm it has a published version and is not archived.
Check that it belongs to the intended knowledgebase and category.
Confirm the knowledgebase is active with the expected visibility.
For a scoped Reader, confirm the article inherits permitted visibility or is explicitly granted.
Check discovery
Use a clear title and summary, add a few relevant tags, and place the article in a Reader-facing category. Search using the title and a common task phrase.
Publish the working update
Saving edits does not replace the immutable Reader version until the update is published. Owners, Admins, and Editors can publish the update immediately. Sending a draft for review is optional.
