Check publication state
Open the article and confirm its status is Published.
Confirm it has a published version and is not archived.
Check that it belongs to the intended knowledgebase and category.
Confirm the knowledgebase is active with the expected visibility.
For a scoped Reader, confirm the article inherits permitted visibility or is explicitly granted.
Check discovery
Use a clear title and summary, add a few relevant tags, and place the article in a Reader-facing category. Search using the title and a common task phrase.
Publish the working update
Saving edits does not replace the immutable Reader version until the update is published. Editors can publish directly; optional review is available when another check is useful.
