In this release, we’re introducing new capabilities for taxonomy management, EPD handling, and compliance questionnaire prefill, helping you organize product families more efficiently and streamline reporting workflows.
🔥Taxonomy App
Makersite now enables you to import and manage custom hierarchical structures for product categorization. You can organize technically similar products into families, define a reference product, and use extrapolation to extend the life cycle model across the full product family. This makes it easier to structure complex product portfolios and maintain consistency across related products.

🔥 EPD Management App**
Makersite now enables you to generate, verify, and publish Environmental Product Declarations for product families. It supports the use of extrapolated LC models based on reference products, helping you validate results and publish them to external sources with greater efficiency. This enhancement streamlines EPD workflows while supporting consistent product-family reporting.

🔥 **Compliance Questionnaire Prefill**
Makersite now automatically prefills compliance questionnaires using data from the system, reducing manual effort and saving time during supplier responses. Suppliers should still verify the accuracy of the prefilled information before submitting, ensuring the final response is complete and correct.

In this release, we’re introducing support for generating EPD PEP Ecopassport PDFs in French, helping you meet regional compliance requirements while simplifying documentation and reporting workflows.
🔥 **EPD PEP Ecopassport PDF Generation in EPD Dashboard**
Makersite now enables you to generate PEP Ecopassport–compliant EPD PDFs in French directly from the dashboard. After creating your LC model, you can review and edit PEP-specific attributes before exporting the final document. All updates are saved and accurately reflected in the generated PDF, ensuring consistency and compliance. This enhancement streamlines the creation of French-language EPDs and supports smoother communication with local stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

In this release, we’re introducing an Energy Recovery tab in PCRs, bulk commenting in compliance workflows, inferred compliance statuses, and spend-based emissions reporting with Exiobase to streamline assessments, compliance reviews, and sustainability reporting.
🔥 Bulk Commenting in Compliance Workflows
Reviewers and suppliers can now add comments across multiple line items during questionnaire reviews and part submissions. This enhancement streamlines compliance processes by enabling bulk actions such as accepting or rejecting multiple items with a single comment.

🔥 Inferred Compliance Status
The system now predicts compliance with regulations using previously declared substance data when direct information is missing. These inferred statuses are clearly marked, helping users identify potential compliance risks without manual data entry.

🔥Energy Recovery Tab in PCRs
Added an **Energy Recovery** tab in PCRs to improve exported energy (electrical and thermal) impacts in life cycle assessments. It includes two fixed rows— **Electricity** and **Heat** —and lets you modify **Product Used** , **Factor** , and **Preferred Route** . Default routes are preselected, and changes are reflected in the End-of-Life module of the generated LC model.
**Note** : Setting factors to **0** results in zero exported energy for electricity and thermal energy. For more information, see the PCR article.
🔥 **Spend-Based Emissions Reporting with Exiobase**
Added fallback reporting for Scope 3 Category 1 emissions using Exiobase emission factors when supplier-specific carbon data is unavailable. The transaction importer now predicts sector and region using AI, ensuring accurate factor assignment for spend-based calculations.
Four new columns have been introduced in the **Site Impact Report** —Spend Based Impact, Spend Base Factor, Exiobase Sector, and Exiobase Source. Additionally, the GWP Impact Local column has been removed.

In this release, we’re introducing support for the EPD Norge Standard to help you meet compliance requirements while streamlining data handling, editing, and export workflows.
**🔥EPD Norge Standard Integration in EPD Dashboard**
Makersite now supports the EPD Norge Standard layout, allowing you to generate and export compliant EPDs directly from the dashboard. You can import EPD Norge attributes using the BOM and Properties Importer, view them after LC model creation, and edit them before generating a PDF. All edits are saved and reflected in the exports. PDF and Excel exports are available, including pivoted table data for reporting.

Environmental reporting just got more versatile. The EPD Report now supports three major standards—EF 3.0, PEP Ecopassport, and EN 15804 + A2—enabling users to generate declarations tailored to diverse industry and regional requirements. This unified approach simplifies compliance and streamlines reporting across multiple frameworks.

**🔥Enhanced Validation and Flexibility in Process Importer**
Import with confidence. The Process Importer now enforces stricter validation rules—ensuring only valid Input/Output types (Product, Waste, or Emission) are used. It also supports custom properties (prefixed with prop\_), validates unique allocation\_key values, and prevents duplicate processes by ID and site. Grouping is now consistent across geographies, improving data integrity and usability.

**🔥Partial Rejection for Compliance Questionnaires**
More control, less rework. Reviewers can now approve or reject individual SKUs within a single compliance questionnaire. This replaces the previous all-or-nothing model, allowing for more precise feedback. Rejected items are automatically returned to suppliers for correction, while accepted entries move forward streamlining the review process and reducing delays.

Suppliers now have a enhanced flexibility and control over material selection, providing both standardization and customization options. This feature delivers the following benefits:
Flexibility to manually add any materials not included in the pre-defined list.
Support for direct import of Bill of Materials (BOM) files for seamless data entry and reduced manual input.

**🔥Introduction of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)**
Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) provides standardized, transparent environmental impact data throughout a product's lifecycle. Key features of EPDs include:
EPDs are based on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).
They adhere to standards like ISO 14025 for type III environmental declarations and ensure transparency and reliability across products and industries.
An EPD dashboard simplifies EPD creation and verification process. It is a platform that helps to create, visualize, and analyze product’s environmental impacts. EPD dashboards helps users meet sustainability goals and regulatory requirements. It requires a Life Cycle (LC) model covering the entire product journey—from cradle to grave. The Process Importer simplifies data integration for chemical and pharmaceutical industry customers, enabling seamless import of process data into Makersite. This feature allows for:

**🔥Automated Emissions Calculation for Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) Category 4 and Category 9**
This release introduces automatic calculations for CCF Category 4 (upstream) and Category 9 (downstream) emissions within Makersite. With this feature, users can generate a Site Impact Report directly from the Makersite application, ensuring accurate CCF impact calculations without manual effort.
Users can import shipment data, where the system applies validation rules and automatically calculates Global Warming Potential (GWP) based on predefined transport modes.
This automation enhances accuracy, efficiency, and compliance by replacing manual calculations with a structured, validated process.

**🔥Improved PCF Questionnaire**
In this release, we have further improved our PCF Questionnaire to meet your requirements better!
When adding Calculation Method information in the PCF form, your Supplier will only see the relevant option for them, based on team requirements and setup. It is now possible for Supplier to only see "PCF" or "Material Breakdown" method, instead of deciding between them on their own. This is controlled by the team administrator, as described in the PCF documentation.
In order to maintain data integrity, Supplier responses are now read-only once the Supplier submits the answer to the PCF information request.

**🔥New Search Filters**
We're excited to announce new filtering options to enhance your search experience in Makersite. You can now quickly and easily find the materials and components you need with these filters:
**Status Filter:** Limit your search to Premium, Private, Public , or Forked datasets.
**Data Availability Filter:** Narrow your search by data categories, e.g. environments, health, cost, etc.
**Source Filter:** Specify sources like EcoInvent, USDA, BOM Import, etc.
**Geography Filter:** Works only for processes. It filters results by specific regions.
Simply type the material name in the search bar, select your preferred filters, and click “Apply” to get precise results instantly.
**🔥QA-import report with IMDS filter**
Previously, the QA-Import Report was only available for BOMs and IPCs. Now, you can also generate this report for IMDS files, streamlining your import processes across even more file types.
Using the report you can now monitor and analyze IMDS file imports, providing comprehensive insights into your file handling. The bulk report shows key details such as import date and how many times the model has been used, helping you track activity and usage patterns. Also, it quickly confirms if your IMDS files were fully mapped upon import, ensuring smooth integration and minimizing errors.
**🔥Regionalization update**
We’ve introduced a new update that allows you to regionalize Product Groups identified by their GUID (Globally Unique Identifier). This enhancement enables more granular control over region-specific product group configurations.

**🔥Certificate of Compliance (CoC) importer**
We are excited to introduce an update in the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) Importer, designed to help you manage compliance data efficiently.
Regulators worldwide enforce Restricted Substance Lists (RSLs) to ensure products meet safety standards for harmful chemicals (e.g., European REACH, RoHS). With this feature, you can easily import compliance data, including compliance status and other related information.
The CoC importer update allows you to connect your SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) with the relevant Sites in your supply chain. This enables you to import compliance data in bulk and ensures you can always track SKUs supplied by different Sites without losing critical compliance information.
