Before you begin
Owner or Admin. Prepare your logo and any Reader Home artwork. Brand kit settings apply to Reader portals across the workspace.
1. Open the design workspace
Open Settings → Brand kit. The dedicated Brand Kit workspace opens with a live Reader preview.
Choose Brand to upload or replace your logo, set Brand colour, and choose a Typeface. Use Theme to choose the Reader design; use Layout, Welcome, and Colours to adjust its presentation. All settings opens the complete set of controls.
Choose the preview knowledgebase and page. Switch between Desktop and Mobile to check navigation, headings, images, and long content. Changes remain a draft preview until you publish.
2. Review and publish the design
Resolve any contrast or colour validation warnings. Keep text, links, focus indicators, and controls readable in the preview.
Choose Review & publish. Check the selected theme, brand colour, typeface, and number of affected knowledgebases.
Choose Publish Reader design to apply the design to every knowledgebase in this workspace. Wait for the published state, then open the live Reader and verify Home, Browse, Learning, My work, Search, and an article.
Use Brand Kit actions → Reader portal to open the live portal. To abandon draft changes, choose Brand Kit actions → Discard changes and confirm Discard draft. Reset Brand Kit is a separate action that replaces the published Reader design after confirmation.
Use custom fonts and footer branding deliberately
For a custom font, use WOFF or WOFF2 files no larger than 5 MB each. Upload only fonts you are licensed to use and supply the correct family and weight information. Use the same family name for its different weights.
Check fallback text and each uploaded weight in the Reader preview. Missing weights or an incorrect family can make headings and body text render differently from your expectation.
If your plan permits footer customisation, choose the available Beetl, hidden or custom branding option. Custom branding uses an uploaded logo, label and optional HTTPS website link. Plans without that capability retain Beetl branding.
Review the entire Reader preview, then use Publish Reader design when ready. Check the live Reader portal separately; these workspace-wide Reader choices affect more than the single article you were previewing.
Check your result
The published Reader design appears across the workspace’s knowledgebases and remains readable on desktop and mobile.
If something goes wrong
The live Reader has not changed: a draft preview is not publication. Complete Review & publish → Publish Reader design.
A control is hard to read: resolve the contrast warning and check both preview sizes before publishing.
The preview is still loading: wait for it to finish or refresh the preview before assessing the design.
A recovery warning appears: keep the tab open until you can publish or safely discard your draft.
