Admin / Editor · Allow about 7 minutes
Before you begin
Editors can prepare proposals; Owners and Admins make final decisions. The architecture-application capability must be enabled. Start from reviewed recommendations and confirm the target knowledgebase.
1. Compare current and proposed structure
Open Proposed architecture from the Knowledge Intelligence area and choose the knowledgebase.
Compare Current and Proposed, including affected articles and categories. Check each recommendation’s evidence and intended destination.
Revise destinations using the available destination controls. Prefer clear reader tasks and shallow nesting; resolve missing or invalid destinations before approval.
2. Ask for the final decision
Prepare the proposal and review the readiness information. Use the available review status or changes-requested controls to resolve problems.
An Owner or Admin checks the complete proposal and records the permitted final approval. An Editor preparing a proposal does not bypass the final role boundary.
Before application, recheck the source content and destination. Stale-source protection may reject a change if the content has changed since the proposal.
3. Apply and verify individual changes
For an approved, eligible change, inspect its individual application confirmation and apply only the intended item. Repeat deliberately for the remaining approved changes.
Inspect the resulting authoring structure and any failures. Refresh stale evidence or revise the proposal rather than forcing a change against outdated content.
Published article location changes stay in the working draft until republishing. Check the live Reader structure after the relevant publication steps; approval alone is not a live portal update.
Check your result
Approved changes have known application results and the intended authoring and Reader structure have been checked separately.
If something goes wrong
Apply is absent: confirm Owner/Admin access, approval state and the architecture capability.
Stale-source rejection: reopen the current article and refresh or revise the proposal before retrying.
Reader location unchanged: inspect whether the location is still a working-draft change awaiting republishing.
